That sounds like they’re not just looking the other way, and selling them “as-is”, they know how to check if it’s stolen and help customers (who know to ask) how to find ones that aren’t stolen. To me, that is knowingly selling stolen items. The gal at UB told me that happens all the time and if I came back she’d show me how to find one that wasn’t. If I get just one person's kindle back to them, I'll be happy.Įdit: I’m getting downvoted like crazy and people are sending me mean things- Amazon told me it had been reported as stolen. I'm going back next week and I'll look through every one that still has battery (most of them did, of the roughly 80 that were there) and if it's yours I'll get it back to you. If you have ever lost a kindle/ had one stolen, send me the serial number (should look like XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) and I'll try to help you out. So now I'm on a Justice Rampage 'cause I'm so mad about this (selling stolen items and Amazon being useless). Amazon was useless in trying to return it to the original owner so I'm trying to do it on my own. I don't know why that didn't occur to me before I bought it but I bet nearly every one on the entire rack was lost/stolen. I bought one and when I tried to register it, discovered it had been lost/stolen. There was an entire 3-sided triangular rack FULL of kindles and other e-readers. Yesterday, I went to Unclaimed Baggage which is a store that sells unclaimed airline baggage, as well as unclaimed lost and found items, and high end thrift store things.
